Gender Marker – Nunavut

In March 2017, the Nunavut government unanimously voted to amend the Human Rights Act to include “gender identity, gender expression” after “sexual orientation” in Part II, subsection 7(1) of the Act. (See: Bill 31 – An Act to Amend the Human Rights Act).

Given the recent amendments to the Human Rights Act in Nunavut, it is unclear what procedures will be put in place for changing gender markers.
